FLIGHT SCHOOL is a highly entertaining coming-of-age story that humorously weaves important and topical themes with powerful life lessons.
As Alea and her friends fly high in pursuit of their dreams, the following central motifs accompany them on their adventures:

EDUCATION

We all learn in different ways. School develops some of our capabilities, but each of us has unique skills and interests that should be nurtured beyond formal education and into the school of life. The occasional crash-landing along the way will help us to learn and grow.

SUCCESS

We grow up being told what success looks like. Being a high-flying success means a certain education, job, income... But how often does that definition take happiness into account? Success should not be about how your life looks to others, but about how it feels to you.

DIVERSITY

Life gets boring when everyone looks and thinks the same way. However, when we bring new voices into the mix, when we embrace what makes us different, and when we empower everyone to take part, then new ideas can take flight and new heights can be reached.

TEAMWORK

Behind every heroic achievement, there’s a hero. And behind every hero, there’s a crew of hardworking individuals providing lift to the dream through their own unique talents and ideas. Teamwork is always the foundation of any great achievement.

RESILIENCE

Hitting big goals requires hard work, some luck, and lots of persistence and self-belief. If nothing worth having comes easy, then we should all hope for a bit of turbulence on our own unique, long-haul journeys to success. After all, it’s always impossible until it’s done.

SUSTAINABILITY

Our individual and collective growth must never come at the expense of the natural world. A successful life must involve tending to the precious garden around us. If the best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, then the second best time is right now.
